Woolsacks
Fredericksburg’s Very Own Mohair Manufacturer Changes Hands After 20 Years

The Backstory: A Texas Textile Legacy
For nearly 40 years, Woolsacks has helped shape both the Texas and national wool and mohair industry. In kind, Woolsacks will continue to serve their family of customers with the same loyal employees who have contributed to the company’s success.
The Deal Story: A Preserved & Modernized Tradition
Timothy Koock, owner of Woolsacks LLC, partnered with our M&A Advisors and sold to experienced businessman & former military personnel, Thomas Gromus.
In November 2019, Gromus completed an asset purchase of this great company and began partnering with the prior owner to carry on the Woolsacks legacy.
“[They were] a true partner throughout the process and supported the seller and I equally. They are the only business broker that made it feel personal and I have already recommended my cousin to speak to them,” said Gromus.
Working alongside Koock for at least a year of committed transition time, Gromus promises the same tradition with an eye on the future of the Mohair industry. “I will focus on modernizing our operations and office process,” stated Gromus.
Woolsacks will continue to operate in the same location of 107 East Live Oak St, Fredericksburg, Texas, in a historic warehouse that used to be part of the old peanut company.
